Job Responsibilities:
- Build a thorough understanding of the company’s portfolio and related therapy area to screen and identify new partnership opportunities from a wide variety of sources.
- Conduct the feasibility studies on business model and evaluate various strategic business opportunities such as in-licensing, co-promotion, strategic alliance etc. and make recommendations on the business model. Build financial modeling, scenario simulations, business forecast and get internal alignment on the business case.
- Work closely with line manager to Lead Due Diligence and align with internal key stakeholders; develop a comprehensive Due Diligence report with close cross-functions collaboration. Support all other process in the BD deals such as term sheet preparation, and contracting process.
- Facilitate cross-function discussions with key stakeholders including R&D, regulatory, legal, IP, Finance, and Medical to ensure clear objective alignment, efficient discussion and close teamwork on all BD projects. Build & maintain robust competitive intelligence to Senior Management on market, sector, players and leading competing assets.
- Manage a portfolio of partnerships, closely work with internal and external stakeholders to manage responsibilities, mitigate risks, and ensure alliance objectives are achieved.
- Drive joint meetings (JSC, JDC, etc.) and communicate outcomes and insights for current and future assets; Provide strategic updates to governance team and senior management.
- Guide internal project teams and leadership with respect to opportunities and constraints arising from each collaboration.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’ s degree or above, pharmacy or biology academic background preferred
- At least 3-5 years’ experience of portfolio strategy, business development, management consulting, alliance management and/or relevant strategic experience, with focus on pharmaceutical industry
- Outstanding analytical skills; e.g, conducting market research, portfolio analysis, developing business cases, building quantitative model. Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and valuation models as MUST.
- Excellent project management and analytical skills, with experience in an environment requiring significant data analysis and cross-functional interaction.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and manage collaborative relationships at all levels, including senior leadership team.
- Excellent judgment and ability to address alliance partners and key stakeholders with sensitive issues.
- Extensive knowledge of pharma industry.
- Experiences from competitive intelligence, market research is a plus.
- Good command of both written and oral English.
